Family Outing Ideas in San Antonio

We’re in the brink of the summer time so we thought it’d be a good time to share some family fun outing ideas. San Antonio has tons of awesome opportunities for the kids this summer so make sure to take advantage.

DoSeum // The DoSeum is the perfect place to take the kids this summer. It offers a variety of options for the kiddos including the Big Outdoors and the Spy Academy among a few other activities.


Movies by Moonlight // Movies by Moonlight is a summer activity that is held in Travis Park every Tuesday at 8:30 pm throughout June and July. The movie changes each week and the best part about this event is that it’s free of charge. Make sure you get there early to catch the pre show festivities.


Ripley’s // Ripley’s is another fun attraction for the kiddos. It offers an Odditorium filled to the brim with random and crazy artifacts and is sure to keep the kids entertained.

Wax Museum // The Wax museum is located right next door to Ripley’s and is another fun option for those of you with kids. It features over 200 life like wax figures of your favorite celebrities and is the perfect opportunity for a photo opp.

AMC Theatre // The theatre is located at the one and only Shops at Rivercenter. Cool off with a fun movie day at AMC and maybe hit a little shopping after the movie is through to keep the fun going.


Hemisfair Park // Hemisfair Park has a little fountain area just for the kids to play in and best of all, it’s free. This is perfect when you want to beat the summer heat but not break the bank.

Kiddie Park // Kiddie Park is America’s oldest children’s amusement park. It was renovated in 2009 and offers lots of fun rides and attractions for the kids.

Mirror Maze // This is another downtown attraction that will bring loads of fun for your children. In the mirror maze kids will be able to navigate the thousand mirror maze as many times as they like.


Splash Town // Splash Town is the perfect way to cool down in the hot Texas heat. It has over 50 rides and attractions to keep you occupied all day.
